- Robie is a very outgoing person. She grew up and lived in Honolulu. She traveled a lot and was comfortable riding in planes. She loved being by herself and alone. She didn't like where she lived because to her it wasn't normal, she lived in Hawaii. Robie is 15 years old at the time.
- Suspense
- We don't know a lot about max except that he's a pilot. Max was unconscious throughout the book. He is on the raft most of the book unconscious.
- Foreshadowing
- The theme to this story is to never give up because Robie was getting to the point that she just wanted to die but then she thought to herself if she did this it would affect so many others and she just pushed to survive and she did because of it.
- mood
- This book gives suspense to the readers because the reader doesn't know when something big will happen or when they get saved. It basically leaves a questions in there mind saying they want this to happen then at
- On the plane ride at the beginning Robie felt like there was something wrong about this flight. She knew the polite but there was a new polite named max. This shows foreshadowing because she knew something was wrong and was sketched out about it
- The mood of the story is hope because in the whole novel she has hope that someone will be there to rescue and save her.
