- This is Palampur, a small village in western Uttar Pradesh. The major occupation here is farming. The upper castes own the major land. It is also connected to towns like Raiganj and Shahpur for the farmers to sell their produce.

- Mohan, yesterday the zamindar expelled me from the farm. My mother is also ill now, I don't have any money for her treatment. Could you please suggest me some good job in the village ?

- With the help of PM-KMY loan Kishora bought 2 buffaloes and a large piece of land. On this land he practices crop rotation and inter-cropping. In Shahpur he sells milk obtained from the buffaloes and in Raiganj he sells his harvested grain ( pulse, wheat, maize and sugarcane). He also gets good profit. Now, he is also able to give proper treatment to his sick mother. Now, he is planning to open up a sweet shop as he already has milk of buffaloes and jaggery from sugarcane.
