- First, use strong passwords. A strong password is a combination of alpha-numeric and special characters.Secondly, back up your data. Always keep copies of your personal data in CD’s, pendrive, etc.Third, do not share personal information. Never share your personal information while filling online forms. Fourth, install firewall. It acts as a bridge between your computers and other support systems from which you are getting data.Fifth, never install software from unknown sources. Verify the source of website while downloading any product or software.

You can use softwares such as Avira, Kaspersky, McAfee etc.The Action Centre in Windows 7 is also a verycrucial against cyber attacks.You can also use Bitlocker. It encrypts your system’s hard disk to help keep documents and other data safe.
