Storyboard Text

  • In the end, what did the king's cruelty achieve? Men, women and children alike lived each day in fear of both his decree and his presence. All that his realm knew was fear and the sight of conscription lines during his reign.Defiance of his law or obstruction of his grand design meant punishment. Good, innocent folk whose only crime was displeasure were taken off the streets, faceless men in armor of black iron dragging them to dungeons unknown
  • Then came the day of terror. Screams filled the town halls and the market squares before the peasantry fled into their homes. The beast came on wings as black as night, devouring all unfortunate things caught under its shadow. In this moment, upon this day, even the king himself could not compare in cruelty and fearsome presence as this horrific creature from beyond. For all his evil, for all his tyranny, the king sobbed at the sight of the beast. Such monstrosity made his own deeds miniscule in comparison. Perhaps out of fear, perhaps feeling shame, the king knelt before homes and begged shelter. None was offered. He demanded obedience. The beast demanded more. Finally, alone and with none to aid him, the shadow of the beast came for the king.
