  • The One Who Was Responsible
  • The French are ruled by Louis XVI and his wife, Marie Antoniette. Though their riches have been depleted, they continue to lead lavish life styles.
  • Slide: 2
  • The Unhappy People
  • Everyone else, on the other hand, was starving and living in poverty. Understandably, this made them rather unhappy because they were the 3rd estate and was treated with less power and was charged higher taxes.

  • How It All Began...
  • The cost of fighting several wars has left the French government deep in debt. Food is becoming increasingly hard to get ahold of which makes the people starve and upset when they can't find any food for themselves and their family.

  • Storming The Bastille
  • On the 14th of July, 1789, angry Parisians stormed the Bastille, and securing a large cache of weapons. There was no way out, everywhere you go there was a crowd of people surrounding the Bastille.

  • While these people were surrounding the Bastille and each person had some type of weapon with them, they were also trying to rescue about seven political prisoners.

  • How It all Ended

  • After storming the Bastille things had changed a little bit like the people had no more privileges and many nobles had begged the ruler to invade France and to restore orders. Louis had remained a constitutional monarchy, he feared for his future so he tried to escape the country but was caught, he had all the people disappointed in him. Which got him and Marie Antoinette executed.
