Storyboard Text
- In this scene, Amir is walking over to Hassan's guest room to place a watch and money in his room under his bed to make it seem like Hassan stole it. The theme represented in this comic strip is betrayal which is seen as Amir forces Hassan to lie about him stealing the items since he knows that Hassan will lie about who did it because he is loyal.
- In this scene, Amir is kneeling by Hassan's bed as he is planting the objects under his mattress. Here, betrayal is shown because Amir is consciously acting out of his guilt because he wants to get rid of Hassan to be able to forget about how he didn't stand up for Hassan.
- Hassan has a talk with Baba, where he admits the theft he didn't commit but Baba forgives Hassan because he doesn't want them to leave. Later, Hassan and Ali decide to leave for good. One symbol seen in this scene is the rain to show the sadness that everyone is feeling because of this change. Additionally, the rain also might symbolize the endless darkness that Hassan and Ali left behind. I think this is the moment that the fact that Hassan is gone really settles into Amir's thoughts as he realizes that his friend is gone forever because he drove him out.
