How did your production skills develop throughout thisproject?
Slide: 2
During the beginning of my project, my production skills greatly increased as my knowledge of the elements of magazines increased from the preliminary exercises. In one of the beginning preliminary exercises, I described different types of photos I took from different angles and shot types, analyzing the effects on the audience and the meaning that is developed with the image.

I evaluated a cover page, table of contents, and a two-page spread from a Baseball Digest magazine, talking about the elements and how the codes expresses the genre of the article. These exercises allowed me to understand why the magazine used its font, color scheme, and photos to represent the genre appealing to the audience. After,I used the different elements from this magazine to form a template for my magazine.

Another aid to the creativity of my magazine was the questionnaire that I made people take to help decide my color scheme, title, and featured article, taking what the audience wanted to use my creativity todepict my audience’s ideas.
Specifically,my technical skills have greatly improved as I have become more accustomed to the designing software Canva using different design elements to improve the aesthetics and realism of my magazine. My creative skills improved significantly as well through reading multiple magazines

Did you face any challenges?
Slide: 7
There were challenges in the production process as I would be in a group with ateammate who shared different ideas on the aspects of the pages of the magazine. Being two different people, we had differing ideas for our final product, and especially during the two-page spread we had two opposite ideas during the design phase.
However, we overcame these challenges by working together to find ideas that suit both our editions, allowing us to have our creative freedom but have an overall similar product with contrasting editions of our magazines.
