- This quote from chapter 3 is important because it describes Jordan 's personality as dishonest and doesn't like everyone. The authors point is to get the audience to know more about Jordan. This is also so the audience knows Nick's opinions on Jordan, because he is the one who says the quote.
- "Suddenly I wasn't thinking of Daisy or Gatsby anymore, but of this clean, hard, limited person, who dealt in universal skepticism, and who leaned back jauntily just within the circle of my arm."
- This quote from chapter 4 is important because it describes how Jordan's relationship with Nick is showing that she trusts Nick unlike how he saw her at first. The author's point is that Jordan is viewed as a "limited person, who dealt in universal skepticism", etc.
