- In the movie theatre, Viola Davis Desmond was sitting on the ground floor. But she was supposed to sit in the balcony. At that time black people had to sit there. And as Viola was enjoying the movie,

- In 1946, when Viola was waiting for her car to be repaired, she decided to go see a movie.
- Viola Davis Desmond was born in 1914. She grew up with segregation. In that time, black people were treated unfairly.

- Here you go.
- Hey! You can't sit here. Leave and go sit in the balcony!
- Yes, and I'm going to call the police.

- Viola Davis Desmond was found guilty and sent to 30 days in prison.
