  • Good Morning AP World! Today, I have something exciting for you. We are going to debate whether or not Humanism is a religion! Everyone please get into two groups.
  • Mrs. Garg
  • Anika
  • Mark
  • I'll argue that it isn't!
  • I'll argue that it is!
  • Aw alright, I'll be the judge.
  • Sam
  • Perfect, you all have an hour to come up with your arguments. Mark, take some time to learn about both sides so you can fairly declare the winner of this debate.
  • 1 HOUR LATER...
  • Humanism is a religion. It follows the criteria that it be widespread, which many people are working to achieve, and that it be founded off of a supernatural/superhuman basis. Humanists believe that humans have a unique nature that is super to the nature of every other being, and that very nature determines the outcome of things in our universe.
  • You girls are both right. Empires weren't really evil nor good. None of them started out pure, and went with full intents of conquering and slaughtering. However, many empires left behind parts of themselves that have become fundamental to their ways of life, like Britain did to India.
  • I guess that settles it then, you both win! Congratulations you two and great arguments!
