- Students! Who is missing this red sweater?
- That is an UGLY sweater!
- I think it is Rachel´s.
- But that's... It's not...
- Now turn to page 32. We're doing problem 4.
- Rachel is at school. Today is her birthday and she is 11 years old. Her teacher asks the class what student owns an ugly red sweater.
- Rachel, you put that sweater on and no more nonsense.
- Rachel is very embarrassed! This sweater belongs to another person! The teacher puts it on Rachel's desk. It is difficult for Rachel to tell the teacher the truth.
- Miss, I forgot it was mine!
- Mrs. Price is the teacher, so she is correct. Rachel is the student, so she is incorrect. She feels sick inside. She moves the sweater to the corner of the desk.
- This is the worst birthday. I wish I was older so I didn't have to remember this bad day.
- Mrs. Price forces Rachel to put on the sweater. She cries in front of the class. She feels 3 and not 11. She wants to be invisible. She is sad and very frustrated.
- I dont want to!
- Finally, Phylis Lopez tells Mrs. Price the sweater is her sweater. Rachel gives the sweater to Phylis. Mrs. Price pretends like everything's okay.
- Why isn't Mrs. Price saying anything!?
- Today, Rachel is eleven. At home, there's a cake and candles and presents and everybody will sing happy birthday. She is 11, but wants to be 102 because this birthday was a terrible day!
