- Good morning Doctor Peralta. Today, my husband Rodrigoand i decided to consult a specialist, because he has been feeling sick lately.
- Ok, and what symptoms has mister Rodrigo presented?
- Good evening, Rodrigo. I´m Doctor Medeiros, and this is Doctor Acosta. Areyou Ready for your appendicitis surgery?
- Well, I had to stay in bed all the weekend due tofever, nausea, chills and abdominal pain on the right side.
- Ok, according to your medical record you don't sufferfor any disease. So I'm going to proceed to examine you.
- Well, acute appendicitis is a medical emergency. But, first I needRodrigo to be hospitalized, then a nurse will take him a blood test and finallyi'm going to make him an abdominal x ray plate.
- I'm done. I can conclude that you have acute appendicitis, that is asudden and severe inflammation of the appendix.
- What can we do doctor?
- Doctor, how about the test results ?, will i survive?
- Don't worry Rodrigo, you will be fine. Thank God you came early to thehospital. You have acute appendicitis. You need a operation, although, i'm nota surgeon. That´s why i´m going to refer you to Dr. Medeiros and theanesthesiologist Dr. Acosta.
