There was a fire that broke out in Pudding Lane, London, which, like the plague, spread very quickly. In just four days, it had already taken two-third of the city.
The Overthrow of James II
In 1673, The Test Act was passed, which was an act that forced public office holders to accept Protestantism. It was targeted mainly at the Catholics, in hopes of excluding them from office.
James II ascends to the English throne after the death of his brother, Charles II. Unlike Charles, James was a Catholic, and he directly violated the English law by appointing Catholics into high office.
The Parliament, unhappy with James II, recruited William of Orange to help them overthrow him. But James already fled to France before they could get to him, resulting in a revolution without any bloodshed, called the Glorious Revolution.
