- Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark are two 16 year old kids from District 12, the lowest ranking district in Panem.
- Climax
- The two get chosen at the Reaping to be in the Hunger Games, where one boy and one girl get chosen from each district to fight to be the one victor that stays alive in an arena, televised to all of Panem.
- Falling Action
- The Hunger Games have been going on for a bit, and Katniss´s ally, a girl named Rue, has just died. That night they get an announcement that people from the same district can win together if they´re the last two alive, Katniss Immediately calls out for Peeta.
- Resolution
- Katniss then remembers overhearing that he is surely almost dead somewhere, as he had gotten in a battle with Cato. Once Katniss finds Peeta, she takes care of him until he can fight again, and it comes down to them against Cato. After Cato dies, Katniss and Peeta are sure that they won, but then an announcement says that there can only be one winner.
- Peeta and Katniss were about to both eat berries that kill them when the announcement says that they both won, ending the Hunger Games.
- Katniss and Peeta arrive back at District 12 to see what awaits them.
