We can stop at the Canary Islands to refuel. Hopefully that will help us get back on track with our voyage.

The Victoria was theonly ship capable of coming back to Spainfrom the spice islands. There were 18 crew members that survived and they came bearinggifts. A ship full of spices. They were the first to sail around the world.

Even though Ferdinand Magellan Suffered a painful death, he receivedgreat recognition for his adventures and discoveries. He named the Pacific Ocean and the king named an island after him. It is called the Straits of Magellan.

The boats started to sail south anda fierce seasonal storm appeared.Thewheather turned bad.
Magellan died on April 1521 in the battlefield, after being shot at with a poisonous arrow.
To honour our leader, we will complete Magellan's mission and returnto Spain.
