On October 14, 1962 an American plane passed over Cuba and photographed a Soviet SS-4 medium range ballistic missile. This caused President JFK to become angered and confused on to why there were missiles in Cuba.

By October 16, 1962 America and Cuba were in a standoff nuclear war. Because the Soviet Union put missiles in Cuba, the United States decided to put nuclear missiles in Turkey, thus causing both Nations to become heated.
Remove your missiles from Cuba to end this! If you do I will remove my missiles.
On October 20, the Executive Committee of the National Security Council had many meetings and decided on a naval blockade around Cuba.

October 22, John F Kennedy sends a letter to Nikita stating starting a nuclear war will hurt not just Americans but everyone in the entire world.
On October 26, Khrushchev offered to remove the missiles if the U.S. didn’t invade Cuba. The next day, Khrushchev proposed that if the U.S. removed its missiles from Turkey, the USSR would dismantle their missiles in Cuba.
Kennedy agreed to remove the missiles from Turkey, and on October 28 the crisis ended.
