  • I really want to go to a cafe, but back on topic. One of the most important social groups involved were the military leaders who leaded the revolution, like Simon Bolivar, who leaded the Gran Colombia. Another important social group is the Catholic church, that was important because-oh shoot it started to rain! Let's go to the cafe so we don't get wet.
  • Wow it's getting late, but before we get out of here, were there social groups involved?
  • Did the enlightenment influence Gran Colombia?
  • Of course! With beliefs such as liberal and revolutionary ideas being increasingly more apparent, important figures like Simon Bolivar and José de San Martin started to believe in those ideas and this had an impact on Gran Colombia. Ideas from the enlightenment such as equality and freedom inspired numerous people to want independence, and after many struggles South America was free of European believes in the 19th century and beyond.
  • The main leaders involved were Simon Bolivar and Francisco Santander. They were allies that fought for the Independence of Latin America. They went from allies to enemies because of their different political views. Simon Bolivar still remained the leader of Gran Colombia.
  • I didn't know it was so short lived... Who were the leaders involved?
