- Frederick Douglass are in a fight scene and Douglass is proving that he is the greater out of both of them by using his long awaited energy on Covey. Douglass is trying to fight for his rights and is trying to avoid being beaten and tortured.
- Stop how dare you assume that, I am better and stronger! After months of torment I finally can prove the power of the slaves!

- Frederick Douglass is lying under a tree and is think that the one spark in which he lost many months ago is re-ignited by the thought of triumph. Also he has the sense of freedom and hope.
