- I saw Miss Emily buying clothes for Homer the other day.
- Have anyone seen them today?
- Really? I thought Homer left her and has no plan to come back.
- I saw Emily let homer back at her house yesterday evening!
- Therefore it's true that Homer is back in our town!
- Poor Miss Emily..
- OMG! There's a strand of white hair on the other pillow..
- How long he's been hide here??
- Miss Emily and Homer are mentioned by the town's residents. They're revealing what they've discovered. He came back to town and entered Miss Emily's house, according to one witness. Another person saw Miss Emily buying a slew of male wear as they were got engaged. One person also stated that home had most likely left town since he hasn't been seen.
- The story rewinds to its beginning point. The townspeople go upstairs after the funeral and after Emily is buried to break into the room that has been closed for 40 years, they know it has been closed.
- They discover Homer Barron's corpse rotting in the bed inside. They discover an indentation of a head in the dust of the pillow next to Homer, as well as a long, gray hair in the indentation.
