- During the French Revolution, there was a dark and violent period known as the Reign of Terror. Anyone they suspected of being untrue to the revolution was captured and put to death. It went on for about a year. Many as 10,00 people died and it ended by Robespierre getting arrested and then killed which stopped all of it.

- The first coup d'état by Napoleon took place in 1799. He pushed changes to the tax code, road and sewer networks, and higher education.

- It was an unfair system that was broken into 3 parts. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd estates. The clergy, nobility and commoners. The commoners were the poor and they were 97% of the population. The nobility were the 2nd class and they were only 2% of the population. And lastly, the clergy were the first class and that was only 1% of the population. The Estates General was really unfair because they would raise higher taxes for the peasants and not for the to upper classes.
- We don't pay as much taxes as they do. That's not fair!
- It's too much! I wont have enough money to survive for myself! Please.. I just want justice
