  • Democritus (460 BCE-370 BCE)
  • Everything here is made up of atoms.world is made up of empty space and atoms.Atoms are Indivisible and are solids.
  • John Dalton (1766-1844)
  • All matter is made up of atoms. Also Atoms can not be made or destroyed.Elements are composed of identical atoms.
  • Arrangement of atoms into new combinations is a chemical reaction. Compounds are composed with to or more elements in fixed proportions.
  • J.J. Thomson (1856-1940)
  • I use Cathode ray tubes. Particals produce eletric currents. Also atoms have charges. My Plum Putting model show eletrons floating in a sea of positive charges.I modified Doltons model.Nuetralls have an overall charge of zero because of a equal amount of positive and negative charges.
  • Ernest Rutherford (1871-19379
  • I tested the Plum Pudding model. I shot positivle charged particals at a thin sheet of gold foil.Particals went through and deflected of the glod foil in different angles. The dense nucleus has protons. My experiment showed that particals orbit the center at some distance.
  • Niels Bohr (1885-1962)
  • I use emisison and absortion spectra of elements to support my theory. Electrons occupy spacific energy levels. Which are spacific distances from the nucleus. There is a spacific amount of energy that is needed to move to move electrons to the next energy level.
  • Erwin schrodinger (1887-1961)
  • I made a wave model equation to allows cientists to identify the properties of electrons as both as wave and a partical. Electrons don't stay in orbit, they have a predicted zone around the nucleus. The wave eqation predicts the probable location of an electron.
