Welcome to your drivers ed test, here you will enter the vehicle
Cervix
Although there are many roads, please navigate your way to the end of the street. Watch out for pedestrians and other vehicles.
Uterus
We are white blood cells! Only the best drivers can pass!
Be careful, try to make it down to the bridge.
Approximately 250 million sperm enter vagina, most of the die (99%) within 30 minutes.
Fallopian Tubes
Find the big blue bus and park next to it.
Yes! So close! We are safe now. Where do we go now?
60,00 remaining sperm must vagina through the cervix located at the far end of the vagina. Cervix is usually plugged with mucus most pf the time to defend against invading pathogens. Sperm most swim single file through tiny channels in the cervical canal.
Fertilization (fallopian tube)
Around 3,000 sperm remain and must navigate through the uterus to the Fallopian tube. Sperm attacked by leukocytes. The remaining sperm must search for the doorway to the Fallopian tube.
Implantation (uterus)
Approximately 10-30 sperm remaining. Once inside, sperm are safe from attack by leukocytes. Sperm are provided with nourishment from the Fallopian tube.
The remaining sperm must find the egg at the upper end of the Fallopian tube. Egg releases chemicals that sperm can sense and they begin to move more quickly. The egg (Ova) is the largest cell in the human body, only lives for 24 hours once it is released into the Fallopian tube.
Once you find the big blue bus, find the passage way back to the city. Once you get there, you complete your test and are safe.
The zygote travels down the Fallopian tube towards the uterus, cells begin dividing. On day four the tiny bundle of cells is named a blastocyst. 5 days later, the embryo breaks our of the protective shell and implants in the wall of the uterus and begins growing.
Congratulations you have completed the test. In 5 days you will be able to get your license.
