Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • Conflict
  • Rising Action
  • Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark live in District 12. Katniss has to hunt illegally and trade to make a living, while Peeta's family owns a bakery. They both reside in the poorest district there is in the country of Panem.
  • Climax
  • Every year one boy and one girl has their name chosen by random from a person sent from the capital. Katniss is shocked when her sister, Prim, is chosen. Katniss then volunteers as tribute. The male selected by district 12 is Peeta Mellark. These two will have to compete with 22 other contestants in The Hunger Games where only one can win.
  • Falling Action
  • Peeta and Katniss travel to the capital to train for the Hunger Games. They also get interviewed and show off for the whole country of Panem in front of judges. Katniss impresses many with her lethal bow skills.
  • Resolution
  • Katniss and Peeta team up in the arena and kill only when needed. The other career tributes do most of the killing. Peeta is injured and Katniss is forced to take care of him, while their star crossed love for one another is continued. Their love story wins them sponsors that end up saving their lives.
  • Katniss kills the last remaining tribute, but the capital said there can only be one winner. Neither Peeta nor Katniss will kill each other, though. The two state they will swallow poison berries so no one wins if the capital does not rescue them. The two outsmart the capital and win the 74th annual Hunger Games.
  • Peeta and Katniss are interviewed when they reach the capital. The two are still desperately in love, which wins over the audience at the capital. After that, they head back home on a train to District 12.
