These processes involve the breakdown and movement of materials on the Earth's surface and are primarily powered by energy from the sun.

- Physical weathering: Breaking down rocks through mechanical forces like freezing and thawing, temperature changes, or abrasion.Chemical weathering: Decomposition of rocks through chemical reactions Biological weathering: Breakdown of rocks due to the actions of organisms.

- Second is Erosion, Erosion is the removal of soil, rock, or sediment from one location and its transportation to another by agents such as water, wind, glaciers, and gravity.
