Storyboard Text
- Although Scout had talked to Jem about not playing the game anymore out of fear that Atticus would find out, he didn't listen. Jem and Dill become very close and they spent most of their time playing together in the tree house while they left out Scout. They only called Scout when they needed a third party for their game.

- Scout started spending more time with Miss Maudie and they became closer. Scout learns that Miss Maudie grew up with the Finch siblings. She explains to Scout how Uncle Jack Finch wanted him to marry her. We also learn that she is widowed and hates her house saying that time indoors is time wasted. She loves planting and also loves everything that grew on Earth except a blade of nut grass. The text states, "If she found a blade of nut grass in her yard it was like the Second Battle of the Marne" (Lee 56).
- We also learn more about Miss Maudie's personality. She loved everything that grew on Earth except the weeds. She also shows great care for her plants shows her love for nature when she says, "
