  • In 1975 Britain was deep in debt. In order to gain more money Britain taxed their colonists for every piece of paper used. This was called the "Stamp Act''Spice Indicator: Economic

  • Great news! Your tea will be so cheap now! So cheap!
  • Um sir? We're still taxing the tea very heavily. It's cheap in cost, not tax.
  • The Stamp Act wasn't enough so Britain implemented the "Townshend Act' which taxed essential items in the colonies. Doubts of Britain begin to develop among the colonists.

  • In 1770 the colonists became enraged with the presence of British soldiers in their towns. The Boston Massacre happened when colonists began to fight back against the soldiers. Without proper equipment, the colonists lost and many were killed.

  • In 1773 the "Tea Act" was implemented. This allowed a British tea company to sell tea in the colonies for a lower price, but Britain was still taxing the tea at high prices. This angered the colonists and the "Sons of Liberty" was formed.
  • On December 6th. 1773 the Boston Tea Party occurred. Sons of Liberty dressed as Native Americans boarded a Britain import ship packed with tea and began to throw it into the water. This act of rebellion threw out 45 tons of tea to protest against the taxes implemented by the Britain government Spice Indicator: Society

  • The Boston Tea Party was an event that would set off a chain of revolution in the colonies. After the event, Britain began regulating and controlling the colonies stronger. New acts were implemented, people were persecuted, docks were closed, and overall took full control of Boston. Spice Indicator: Political & Society
