The Flight of Icarus starts off with King Minos banishing his builder Daedalus to be locked up in a tower because Theseus escaped the labyrinth.
The Flight of Icarus
With help from his son Icarus, Daedalus escaped the tower. But King Minos didn't stop because even if he escaped the tower he was never gonna get off the island, King Minos has his men thoroughly check all outgoing ships for any stowaways. King Minos had controlled the land and sea. One thing he didn't control was the sky, this gave Daedalus an idea.Daedalus came up with the idea to make wings out of bird feathers like seagulls and pelicans, so he sent Icarus to go to the beaches and pick up all the feathers and sticks he could find.
When the wings were finished Daedalus tested them, and they actually worked. He was flying. After the test run him and Icarus were about to fly, but before that he told Icarus how to fly and where to fly, so the wings don't get destroyed or melt. Then when they were up in the air flying Icarus flew to high to the point where his wing fell apart and he fell to his death. When Daedalus found his body on a island which he named after him, then flew to Sicily where he gave up his wings and mourned his son's death.
