- Hi sis, how was your day? Mine was good. We learned about Renewable and non - renewable resources in Geography.
- My day went well. Hmm..so tell me what have your learnt on this topic
- Ok. Renewable resource is basically a resource that can be replaced/ it can grow within a span of a human life time while a non renewable resource forms at a rate much slower than it is consumed/ it takes a very long time to get replenished.
- Hmm.. very good. Looks like you've understood what it is about. Now tell me why do you think it is important and give me a few examples.
- Renewable and non renewable resources are important because we need them in our daily life and human needs. Examples of renewable resources are solar energy, biomass etc and non renewable resources are coal, oil, natural gas etc.
- Good job! But unfortunately did you know that these resources are getting wasted every day. By the growing population, there is increase in demands
- OH! I did not know about that. Even my teacher told me that these are getting wasted. We have to save these resources for the future generations.
- Yeah, we do need to. So, are you ready to save these from tomorrow? Let's practice what we preach!!
- Good question. We have to start with ourselves before asking others. We can save these resources by turning off water taps when not in use, planting more trees, switching off lights when not in use, repairing leakage taps immediately etc.
- Yes! I am! But how are we supposed to save these? We cannot tell everyone to stop using them.
- Wow! Okay, I am gonna start from tomorrow. Thank you so much.
