  • 1. Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy.2. Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a freind.3. No animal shall wear clothes.4. No animal shall sleep in a bed.5. No animal shall drink alcohol.6. No animal shall kill any other animal.7. All animals are equal.
  • It is an unalterable law by which all the animals on Animal Farm must live for ever after.
  • The Seven Commandments
  • He claimed to know of the existence of a mysterious country called Sugarcandy Mountain, to which all animals went when they died. It was situated somewhere up in the sky, a little distance beyond the clouds. It was sunday seven days a week and lump sugar and linseed cake grew on the hedges. (page10)
  • Beasts of England and The Meeting
  • In his speeches Squealer would talk with the tears falling rolling down his cheeks of Napoleon's wisdom, the goodness of his heart, and the deep love he bore to all the animals everywhere, even and especially the unhappy animals who still lived in the ignorance and slavery on other farms (page 62)
  • Confessing sins
  • The seven commandments kind of resemble The Ten Commandments in Christian religion. Example: You shall not murder, No animal shall kill any other animal. Their first beliefs after kicking jones out.
  • Some examples:
  • Under the guidance of our leader, i have laid five eggs in six days.
  • Napoleon is always right!
  • After the hoisting of the flag all the animals trooped into the big barn for a general assembly which was known as the Meeting (Page 19)The Meeting always ended with the singing of Beasts of England (page 20)
  • Different animals would go to the front and confess their crimes. (page 56) It is similar to Conffesion.
  • The general feeling on the farm was expressed in a poem entitled Comrade Napoleon... (page 63)It was inscribed next to the Seven Commandments and a portrait of Napoleon, painted by Squealer.
