- I chose when the locusts come to town and the word bubble is a quote from the story. "Soon it covered half the sky, and the solid mass was now broken by tiny eyes of light like shining stardust. It was a tremendous sight, full of power and beauty. "
- "That boy calls you father. Do not bear a hand in his death."
- Umuofia has decided to kill Ikemefuna, but because him and Okonkwo have such a good bond they don't want Okonkwo to be there when he dies. "They will take him outside Umuofia as is the custom, and kill him there. But I want you to have nothing to do with it. He calls you his father. "
- It is time for Ikemefuna to go "home". "Later in the day he called Ikemefuna and told him that he was to be taken home the next day." "His own home had gradually become very faint and distant."
- "Eze elina, elina! Sala Eze ilikwa ya Ikwaba akwa oligboli Ebe Danda nechi eze Ebe Uzuzu nete egwu Sala"
- As Ikemefuna was walking "home" he sang a song that he sang when he was a kid. "If the song ended on his right foot, his mother was alive. No, not dead, but ill. It ended on the right. She was alive and well."
- "My father, they have killed me!"
- Even though Okonkwo was not supposed to come to the death of Ikemefuna. He had the last hit into killing him. "Okonkwo drew his machete and cut him down. He was afraid of being thought weak."
- Okonkwo came home and everyone knew that Ikemefuna was dead. "As soon as his father walked in, that night, Nwoye knew that Ikemefuna had been killed." "He did not cry. He just hung limp."
