The winter at valley forge in 1777 was very bad. It was a cold winter for the soldier's, they didn't have many layers of clothes either. Mid winter and not a very warm shelter, many died that winter. Soldiers were dying daily from freezing, hunger, or injuries.

George Washington had much nicer living quarters then any soldier. He had a fairly nice house with stone walls. he also had more warmth and comfort then any other soldier. compared to the soldiers in tents he was living luxury.

The soldiers had the worst living quarters. It was like a tent and it had very thin walls. It wasn't insulated well at all, all soldiers were very cold. They also didn't have many clothes so they were pretty much frozen.

The soldiers in the war had many different problems. One in particular was clothes. the soldiers had very few cloths. The biggest missing clothing being shoes. Mid winter with no shoes and there toes are cold.
