Storyboard Text

  • Looks like this patient died during his sleep. I better inform the family and get him to the morgue for an autopsy to find out what went wrong
  • Oh..this must be the patient I was told to do an autopsy on... it never gets easier.
  • His right half is so purple.. this must be livor mortis meaning as his body decomposes blood seeps and settles down into lower parts of the body turning a blue/purple
  • On top of the livor mortis the body is also experiencing rigor mortis also known as death stiffness. Due to oxygen no longer in the blood stream calcium accumulates in the blood causing the muscles to stiffen. It starts in the head 2 hrs after death and expands throughout. Meaning the patient has been dead more than 2 hrs and the stiffness should end in about 6-13 hrs.
  • On top of the other 2 stages of death it seems the deceased has entered the 3rd stage of death which is Algor mortis when the body temperature drops after death. ( I know this because I opened his chest and lower parts where I took his temperature through the liver and also discovered he had a heart attack.
  • After 2 days the stages of death have passed and the family can come pick the deceased up in order to give him a proper burial
