- Queen Mary was raised catholic by her Spanish mother. She was the first female to rule England when she ascended the throne. After she became queen she married King Phillip II of Spain, a revolt broke out among Protestants because of it.
- She soon revived laws against heresy and outlawed new protestant churches. Over three hundred people, primarily protestants were burned at the stake for heresy. There were hard times while Mary was queen, causing thousands of rebels to march on London, to dethrone the woman they called bloody Mary. It did not happen the way the rebels wanted.
- Queen Mary only ruled for four years. She was considered the first queen England had but she was not liked very well. She died in 1557. The reign of her terror was finally over.Human Odyssey Vol 2 Pg. 274
