  • Slide: 1
  • I've been looking for food for hours... I'm super hungry do you have anything I can eat? I'm going to surgery but I'm way too anxious and my heart is beating fast That candy is mine
  • Hours? Wow... You can have my hotdog because you need it more than I do
  • NO! I will get the best grade and get the candy
  • This demonstrates the Drive-reduction theory because the woman has a drive to fulfil her physiological needs (hunger), so she rushes to get any food available to her. This applies to me because when I have a need, I will want it fulfilled immediatly
  • Slide: 2
  • You need to relax because what you're going to do is very complex and hard
  • This demonstrates Yerkes-Dodson law because it states for difficult tasks you need low arousal. Currently, the doctor is too aroused so he can't do surgery efficiently so he need to calm down to do well. This applies to me because when I take a test I make myself relaxed
  • Slide: 3
  • Whoever gets the best score on the test gets a whole bag of candy
  • This scene supports incentive theory because they're externally motivated by candy to achieve a good test score. This applies to my life because I would sometimes do tasks for a reward like food
