- Augustus invites Hazel over to show her all the books he has in his collection. They exchange their favorite books and discuss how they feel about love.
- This becomes the foundation of their relationship
- And here you go, The Prince of Dawn

- I used my wish on Disney Land!
- Hazel agrees to a date with Augustus,they discuss their cancer wishes . When Augustus realizes that he hasn't used his wish he decides to offer Hazel a trip to Amsterdam to meet her favorite author.
- It takes Hazel some convincing, but she goes and talks to her mom
- I actually haven't used mine yet ..
- That's a little cliché, but
- But I just want you to be happy, you can go
- I'm still a little hesitant..
- After consulting with doctor Maria, Hazel's mom allows her to go with Augustus to Amsterdam to meet Van Houten, the author of her favorite book.
- I love you mom.
- I know this will be good for me
- When they meet the author, they realize he isn't going to tell them the ending, they become furious and he doesn't take them serious because he didn't think they would actually come.

- What comes as a shock is, Augustus is the one that dies after his cancer comes back.
