Yes little timmy, thats brings me to the first part of our lesson: Red blood cells.
Hello class, today we are learning about the parts of the blood!
Like red and white blood cells?
They look like flattened basketballs or donuts with the hole still there.
Red blood cells also known as RBC, RBC are made up of a protein called hemoglobin. Hemoglobin picks up oxygen at the lungs and brings it to the rest of the body.
RBC's tend to live for about 120 days. They are the most existing in your blood.
Now we are moving onto white blood cells or WBC. There are more RBCs than WBCs. WBCs have many jobs, first they alert the body if it had been invaded. Some of the WBCs produce chemicals to fight the diseases off. You could call them the disease fighters. Other WBCs surround and kill the other organisms.
Wow that's so cool!
The final part of our lesson is plasma. Plasma is actually 90% water so it is a liquidish substance. Plasma carries hormones, nutrients and proteins.
Yes little timmy, it is a liquidish substance like I said. Pay attention! Plasma also takes away cell waste. Hormones carry messages through your body and it tells you what to do and when.
