- I'm afraid so...
- Cherry Valance??
- You know... I've been thinking... I think we should go turn ourselves in.
- What? You can't go do that now...
- CRASH!
- In the diner, Dally tells Johnny and Ponyboy that Cherry Valance is the Soc's spy, and that she is sent to spy on the greasers. They are just as surprised and confused as they would be if they were told that they would become Socs.
- Hurry! We need to get out of here!
- On the way back from the diner, Johnny admits that he wants to go turn himself in. Ponyboy isn't totally fazed by the situation, while Dally is completely beside himself. He very incredulous.
- What's going on? Where am I? Where are the boys?
- Dally, Johnny, and Ponyboy hastily rush into the burning church to save a couple of children that wandered in. They tried as hard as possible to save everybody before the church completely collapsed.
- Oh, Ponyboy! I'm so glad you're alright! Wow, you've turned into a towhead!
- Ponyboy, I thought we'd lost you like we did Mom and Dad... I love you.
- Johnny, Ponyboy and Dally gallantly dragged the children out of the church, carrying others. It was only a matter of time until it was over.
- Injured and confused, Ponyboy was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. At first, it was hard for him to tell where he was. In the end, Ponyboy was pretty good (compared to Dally and Johnny), but he was still slightly burnt.
- Ponyboy gets to see Sodapop and Darry for the first time in a while, and they all miss each other so much. During this time, Ponyboy realizes how much he really means to Darry. Now, he is safe at home; for good.
