This storyboard is designed for individuals aged 60 and above. Wilson et al. (2021) stated that the aging population surpassed the population of children in 2018 and is projected to reach 22% globally by 2050. It is crucial to address the escalating health needs of the aging population and ensure their utilization of eHealth services. This storyboard focuses on enhancing the user interface design for the elderly, who often grapple with mobility issues due to disease and aging. In certain populations, a staggering 77% of individuals have more than one chronic condition, which can significantly impact their experience (Wilson et al., 2021). The mobility issues faced by the target population may impede their user experience and interactions while using health applications. Some users may find it challenging to use a mouse or pushbuttons due to health conditions like hand tremors, arthritis, or limited mobility in certain parts, such as the wrist, which can cause pain and make it harder to perform precise movements like moving a computer mouse or pushing buttons (Wilson et al., 2021). To help address this challenge, I will design a user interface with larger buttons to make it easier to push and add voice-controlled smart speakers and displays, allowing users to move through the system using voice commands.
Hi Grandma, I'm here to help convince you to start using eHealth services for your medical care so that you do not need to take the bus anymore.
Hi Honey, What are you doing here?
Grandma, they have new hands free features that will help with that! You won't have to use your hands as much!
But honey, it is hard for me to use the computer with the way my hands shake and the arthritis pain.
Let's go back to your house and I will show you what you can do on your computer.
I am so excited to see! It will save me time and a long walk to the bus stop since I can't drive anymore!
This interface can be connected to smart speakers, such as an Amazon Echo. This allows you to use voice commands to access and listen to information instead of typing. Additionally, you can use voice interactions with a screen to watch videos and select menu options.
What do I do if I have questions?
