Hi, I'm Krishna, and my book was Little brother by Cory Doctorow
Marcus and his friends are seniors at a high school and are tech savvy. He hacks into the school servers for changing stuff like attendances. He decided to ditch school with his friends Darryl, Van and Jolu. They go out near the Bay bridge, when there is a terrorist attack. Out of nowhere, Daryll is stabbed. Marcus stops a truck. A few minutes later, they’re on a boat. The boat went to an island, where the DHS (Department of Homeland Security) detained and questioned them about the attack. The DHS suspected that they were a part of the terrorist attack. They were threatened to speak up and were tortured mentally. After 3 days, they were released because of insufficient evidence. But were told they would be monitored closely since they are labeled suspects. Marcus felt that the DHS was doing this to prevent another terrorist attack. He felt that this was against his freedom of rights, freedom of privacy and that the DHS was against the Bill of Rights. So he attempts to take down the DHS with a software called XNET
"I'm not unlocking my phone for you. That's private stuff. I've got the right to my privacy!!!!"
Are you listening to me young man? I want you to unlock this phone and then decrypt the files in its memory.
She did just want me to unlock the phone. She wanted me to put her in charge of me. To give up every secret, all my privacy
Marcus it can be a lot worse than this” You unlock the phone today. If you do that, you’ll get outdoor and bathing privileges. Tomorrow we”ll bring you back and ask you to decrypt the date on these memory sticks. Do that and you’ll get to eat in the mess. Hall. The day after, we’re going to want your email passwords, and that will get you library privileges.
