Saint Ignatius was born in the castle of Loyola October, 1491 Azpeitia, Spain. He lived a childhood full of wealth as he was in a royal family which caused him to become selfish and greedy Seeking lots of money and praise. He grew up eager to be a soldier which did come true when he was a young man.
Cannonball Pamplona 1521 Saint Ignatius got struck by a cannonball during the war of Pamplona. Because he was such a respected soldier the other country helped him back to a doctor. This dramatically changed his life as in rehab he had a spiritual journey that changed his life forever. He read two books and turned to the way of God.

During this he also became a lot more closer with God and Jesus.

BY the spring of 1522 he was well enough to go out and this was the start to his spiritual journey. He went to Manreesa to work and while there he gave all his stuff away. He went to a cave to practice his spiritual practises seven hours a day. His job while he was there was working in a place of sick and injured.
