  • Industrial Revolution (1760-1840)
  • Haiti Rebellion (1791-1804)
  • Opium Wars (1838-1842)
  • The Industrial Revolution was a huge part in the evolution of machinery. But there were also many bad things. There were a lot of people that took advantage of kids they worked in factories and often got really sick from all the smoke and pollution in the industry they were in.  But this also allowed people to realize the flaws and were able to improve the system and reduce costs labor time and the amount people needed in factories.

  • The Haiti rebellion was a big event when it comes to independence. This took place around 1791 and started when the word of the French revolution got out. It drew divisions between rich land owning whites and poor whites. Shortly after this started slaves started to join and rebel as well. In order to stop this mess the French passed laws giving rights to free blacks and soon after, abolishing slavery all together.(6.01)

  • The opium wars started with colonization and imperialism. Many country fell week upon all the invasions and attempts to get more resources and power. China was one of them, europoens saw this and took their chance. They forced china oto take opium as a payment instead of gold and silver for reasources. China refused and a war broke out. China lost and had to accept the opium. This also cause opium overdoses all over china. (6.04)
  • Around 1848 a guy named Adam Smith came up with some ideas. he believed that there should be no government control over markets and all citizens can handle it themselves with the invisible hand of the market.Then some saw that this wasn't working so Charles Fourier said that some organizations can be owed by the com mon but larger ones should be owned by the government for a balance. Still, this wasn't good enough so Karl Marx said this is ridiculous and said government should own it all and soon everything is going to fall in a big rebellion and it did. (6.03)
  • Many citizens of Italy were very displeased with the multiple dynasties that made up Italy which untimely led to the unification period. Some like Carbonari were especially displeased and were some of the first to challenge the monarchies. They led the first revolt in Naples and convinced the Bourbon king to agree to a constitution for that area. Mazzini was also a big contender he led a movement from prison and founded young Italy. (6.05)
