- Once upon a time, Don Juan and his wife Namongan lived in Nalbuan, now part of La Union in the Northern part of the philippines. Don Juan left his wife to go to her enemy to punished her enemies. But he didn't know that her wife is pregnant. Namongan gave birth to a baby boy without her husband. He gave her son's name Lam-ang.

- There was a young woman named Ines Kannoyan whom Lam-ang wanted to get married. Lam-ang decided to court Ines and he bring a rooster and gray dog. Lam-ang meet another suitor of Ines and the suitor of Ines decided to challenge Lam-ang and if one of them win they're going to win the heart of Ines. Lam-ang win the challege.
