"As soon as she arrived she went straight to the kitchen to see if the monkey was there" (Heker 107).
Foreshadowing
"That on's not your friend. You know what you are to them? The maid's daughter, that's what"(Heker 107).
Conflict
"It's a rich people's party" (Heker 107).
The story is really short. Liliana Heker's novel The Stolen Party is told from a third-person limited point of view. Rosaura's story is told in her own words, and the reader is only aware of her emotions. The majority of the story takes place in Luciana's home, and Rosaura spends a lot of time there.
Climax
The spectator doesn't know much about the main character's social standing at this point in the novel until Rosaura's mother makes a comment to her daughter that suggests something about social class will happen.
Irony
"Rosaura felt that she had never been so happy in all her life" (Heker 109).
Man vs. SocietyRosaura tries to fit in as a normal youngster in a culture that values socioeconomic class. She simply want to attend Luciana's birthday celebration. Because of her mother's occupation, there appears to be a universal rule against it.
Theme
"As if the slightest change might shatter an infinitely delicate balance" (Heker 111).
Rosaura had come to her friend's party as a guest. Employees and her mother's coworkers assumed she was working part-time to supplement her income. Rosaura was given money by Seorita Ines in exchange for her assistance in distributing food.
"In her hand appeared two bills"(Heker 111).

Rosuara had a great time at the celebration. She felt unique for a while. Only until Seorita Ines made her feel like another member of the working class. Because Seorita Ines shares Rosaura's and her mother's social status, her acts were startling.
Nobody's youth or life in general should be influenced by their social class. When Rosaura refuses to receive the money, Seorita Ines knows something is awry. She is, however, completely unaware that she is the one who committed the error. Rosaura, being middle-class, Ines reasoned, would leap at the sight of the two bills.
