Late June 1776- Invasion of New York/Long Island There was a major battle between the Patriots and the British in New York. The Patriots took a major blow and people started to question George Washington’s leadership. They started to lose hope and they were running low on supplies.

Dec. 25 1776- Battle of TrentonGeorge Washington won a battle between them and the Hessian mercenaries. It boosted the army’s confidence, they thought that they could pull this off. It also set the stage for them to win another battle in Princeton.
Oct. 17, 1777- Battle of SaratogaThe Patriots defeated the British and delivered a big blow. This was a major turning point in the war. It secured foreign support from France that the Americans could hold their own against the British. This meant that France would send more supplies to the Americans to fight against the British.
