- Christopher columns was rejected four times until Spain was willing to take the risk to give him money the ships and the supplies he needed as long as he did was the king and queen told him to. They sponsored him because they could have the opportunity to expand Spains trading network.

- We will give you the money on 3 conditions, you have to bring back riches, spread Christianity, and expand out empire.
- On august 3, 1492, Christopher and his crew had set sail from Spain to try to find India. After two months of Ewing at sea his crew was getting tired of being on the ship so Columbus said if they didn’t find land in two day they would go back to Spain. Two days late his crew spotted land and they began to scream “Tierra Tierra.”
- Land land!
- Columbus and his crew thought they had found India but little did they know they were in the Bahamas. When they arrived they were greeted. He continued to believe he was in India because they wore gold. He later began to mistreat them. He promised a new world but it wasn’t the world he had promised. The new world was were poor. He had killed many natives. On November 7, 1504 he returned to Spain. Once he got back to Spain he realized he left 39 men. He found out that before leaving the Taino people agreed to steal and commit violence. The Taino people had killed his men.
