The Battle of Platea.The Greeks were struggling until the Persian General was killed. After that the Greeks slaughtered the Persians and stopped the second Invasion of Greece

The Battle of Thermopylae.During this battle the Greeks confronted the huge Persian army with a very small force of 7,000 Greeks led by King Leonidas' 300 Spartans. The Greeks held off the Persians for 3 days but a traitor told Xerxes the Persian King about a route to flank the Greeks. The Greeks retreated except for 300 spartans led by King Leonidas who all died in a last stand.

The Battle of Salamis.A naval battle where smaller, faster, and more agile Greek triremes led by Themistocles destroyed the bigger and slower Persian warship.

After the war the Athenians made the Delian League and moved the Treasury to Athens where they used it to rebuild.
