Storyboard Text

  • Broken Trust
  • Innocent until proven guilty
  • Childhood friends
  • Gertrude, Polonius, and Claudius have Hamlet and Ophelia meet up. Polonius and Claudius secretly listen in. Ophelia tries to give Hamlet's love letters back and Hamlet eventually realizes he is being spied on. Proving he cannot trust Ophelia. He becomes violently angry and this makes the king think he should send Hamlet to England, because he could be dangerous.
  • Guilty Pleasure
  • Claudius asks Horatio to watch Claudius while the goes to see if he is really guilty. Hamlet needs a second opinion. When the play begins  Gertrude and Claudius grow upset because it is mocking their marriage. Once the part about the king being poisoned comes up Claudius grows angry.
  • Confrontation
  • The king tells Rosencrantz and Guildenstern that they are going to England with Hamlet to keep an eye on him.
  • A visit
  • Claudius confesses to the audience that he did indeed kill Old Hamlet. He knows he must pray for forgiveness but he cannot. He is not willing to give up all he has gained from the sin he committed. Meanwhile Hamlet is about to kill Claudius but since he thinks he is praying he chooses to wait til he is sinning. So that he does not go to Heaven.
  • Polonius tells Gertrude that when Hamlet gets into the room to be firm with him. He then hides behind a curtain. Gertrude tells Hamlet to listen to her since he comes in and is rude. She attempts to go get some assistance and he tussles with her to make her sit down. Polonius thinks she is in danger and yells for help. Hamlet stabs him thinking that he is the king. 
  • Hamlet gets really cruel and proceeds to tell Gertrude about herself and her mistakes. She begins to feel bad and asks him to stop but he continues. The ghost of Old Hamlet shows up and tells him not to forget his purpose. That being cruel to your mom isn't apart of it. Hamlet gives his mom the advice to ask for forgiveness and confess her sins. He then drags Polonius out and exits.
