- Now that my bill has passed through the House, it has to go through the same steps again for the senate.
- Onto the committee and subcommittee! The committee sends it to the subcommittee and they research it and send it back to the committee.
- Now that that process is done its time for the senate to debate and vote on my bill to determine whether the president gets to sign it or veto it!!
- The committee for the senate has approved my bill!!! The majority vote won in both house and senate.
- They are taking FOREVER! What is going on??? I'm going to check.....
- So, it turns out one of the senators tried to start a filibuster but 3/5's of the senate voted for a cloture and started the vote.
- Now my bill goes to the president!!! He can ether approve it and sign it, veto it, or pocket- veto it. Vetoing the bill means he completely shuts it down and the bill will not pass and it goes back to the senate or house. If he pocket-vetoes it that means he does not take actions for 10 days and it goes back to house or senate to be tried again. IF the congress feels the bill is necessary they can override and pass the bill.

- Hmmmm.... Bill about eliminating olives? I HATE OLIVES. I fear the olive lovers will hate me if Isign this! I also don't want the olive lovers to vote me out of office!
- Mr. President
- I'm going to pocket veto this bill. It won't have my name on it and I won't be blamed for it! The congress can override and pass this bill to get rid of olives.

- Now have to go through all the committee processes again with additions and subtractions to my bill to try to get congress to override and pass my bill! DOWN WITH OLIVES!
- The President pocket-vetoed by bill! UGH! Now I have to update my bill and try this whole process again! I'm sure one of those Senators added a rider to my bill and made the president not sign it. UGH!
- Okay, so it turns out the president hates olives just as much as I do! He just doesn't want to upset olive lovers and they vote him out of office!
