Toussaint Louverture was a self-educated slave that grew up in hati and read every book he could get his hands on
when the french revolution changed France and declared rights for all men this meant for the freed black men in hati but not for the ones still in slaved (sugar on the farm, not cotton)
the slaves of hati were down being mistreated and decided to revolt. this was the first slave revolution and the mountainous biome oh hati made it easy for strategic ambushes
at the start there were few slaves but change was on the horizon and at the head of the brigade was Toussaint Louverture on his horse leading his men into battle
as more slaves were freed Toussaint Louverturearmy grew this allowed them to overpower plantation owners this earned him the nickname black nopaline
due to further issues in France napoleon decided not to persu the issue in hati and decided to the the slaves go and let them have the land
