- I would come read to you!
- I would love too, but sadly I've fallen ill with a cold.
- Oh would you please? It would be lovely to have some company today!
- I'm so very bored. Grandpa and the servants refuse to read my books to me anymore
- Knock Knock
- Good day ma'am. I've come here to see Laurie. I brought a dessert made by my sister Meg as a gift.
- Thank you ma'am!
- Of course. I'll show you up to his room. Right this way!
- Why hello Miss March. Is there something I can assist you with?
- Mister Laurence, Miss March is here to see you
- Yes please show her in, thank you.
- It's nice to see you too, Laurie. I brought you this dessert, Meg made it. It's soft so as to not hurt your throat when you swallow.
- I would like you to choose any book you like.
- So, what book would you like me to read first.
- Josephine, it's very nice to see you! Thank you very much for coming.
- I like spending time with you too, Laurie. Now, back to the story before I have to return home for supper.
- So for hours they read books, talked, and most of all, laughed. A lot. Laurie was beginning to realize that as long as the March family lives next door, he is never alone.
- Jo, you are delightful to be around and you have brightened my lonely day.
- Mister Laurence, the doctor is here to see you now.
- Me too, Laurie. I'm glad we got to spend time together today.
- And so Laurie went to see the doctor and Josephine went home to her family, both feeling an overwhelming happiness.
- I suppose I must go. Thank you, Jo. This is the most fun I've had in a long time.
